The ability to see which college coaches viewed your profile is a key feature of your Pro account. While receiving a view as a student-athlete is exciting, it is important to understand what a view means and which questions you should be asking yourself before taking the next steps.
Are College Coach views real?
Yes - We have a strict verification process to ensure that only current college coaches have access to the platform. This means only verified college coaches can view all of the information on your profile. Since only verified coaches can access their program's account, we can see which athletes each program has viewed. With a Pro account, you have full transparency into which college program has viewed your profile, video or linked information. Any time a college coach reviews your profile, you will receive a notification in real-time to let you know. Any time that you receive a view notification, these are genuine views being created by college coaches.

What does a View from a College Coach mean?
There could be several reasons why a college coach viewed your profile, including:
- That program is interested in you
- That program needs to learn more about you before determining their interest
- That program learned from your profile you are not the best fit for their program
A view signifies a college coach has evaluated your profile just like they would evaluate you on the sideline of a competition. College coaches use your profile and video to learn more about whether or not you are an academic and athletic fit for their program. A view is the first step in a series of steps that college coaches will take to determine if an athlete is a fit for their program.
As a student-athlete, it is important to stay realistic about your process, understanding that there is a difference between being evaluated and being on a list of top recruits. We want to make sure we are transparent about which programs view your student-athlete profile while allowing college coaches to evaluate multiple student-athletes, many of which may not be a good fit for their program.
*Pro Tip: College coaches do not want to receive messages from prospective student-athletes saying “I saw you just viewed my profile.” Regardless of where you are in the recruiting process, it’s important to be incredibly thoughtful in your outreach. Do your research on the school that reached out and use your advocates for guidance on which programs are a good fit for you. Also, stay mindful of the contact rules for college coaches in your sport.
Evaluating Your Views
Timing of Views
Depending on where you are in your recruiting process, a view may have less or more serious implications. If you are a freshman, you are likely just starting your recruiting process. This means building out your SportsRecruits profile, getting video together, and exploring different programs. Just as you are beginning your search for schools, college coaches, depending on their Division, will be on a similar track with exploring student-athletes. Depending on the seasonality of your sport, coaches might be recruiting more heavily at certain points in the year. If a college program views your profile, video, or linked information, it does not necessarily mean you are on the top of their list. In the same way that you are starting to research schools, college coaches are also beginning to explore prospective student-athletes.
During your sophomore, junior, and senior years, views may have bigger implications as coaches put more focus on recruiting your class year. Even then, be sure to consult with your advocates to determine if this is a realistic fit for you athletically. If you believe it is, make sure you are communicating with these programs regularly to relay any academic and athletic updates.
Number of Views
When evaluating your views, it’s important to consider the number of times a program has viewed your profile, video, or transcript. If a program consistently views your information over an extended period of time, this program could be heavily evaluating and potentially interested in speaking with you directly or seeing you play live. When a program returns multiple times in a short time period, this could mean the coaching staff is gathering more information about you to decide if they want to move forward. Conversely, if a program views your profile, video, or transcript one time, and does not return, this could mean they evaluated you and determined you are not the right fit for their program.
