Playlists allow college coaches to evaluate your skills efficiently. Create a Pinned Playlist with your top “Career Best Plays” and additional Playlists with specific season or tournament highlights. Read below to learn how to build standout playlists and publish them for college coaches to see.
Upload Your Footage
To create a pinned playlist and additional playlists, you will need footage in your SportsRecruits Video Library. You can use videos you’ve uploaded, club-shared videos, or videos synced from video partners or event footage.
To learn more about uploading footage, check out our article, "Uploading Video to your Profile".
Create Clips of Your Best Plays
After you upload footage, it's time to start creating clips for your pinned playlist.
We recommend creating 10-15 clips that cover a mix of skills to keep coaches engaged. Also, make sure to add isolation effects and essential details such as skill tags, captions, jersey numbers, and jersey colors to help coaches quickly understand your highlights. As you add clips to your playlist, they will be autosaved but NOT autopublished to your Athlete Profile. For the changes to become live on your Athlete Profile, you must publish the playlist.
For more instructions on creating clips and adding isolation effects to your playlist, check out our help article “Creating & Managing Your Playlists”.
Build Your Playlists
After you create your clips, it’s time to add them to your playlists. To do this:
- Head to the playlist editor.
- Click “Add existing Clips”.
- Then select the clips you want to add, and click “Add Clips,” ideally aiming for 5-15 impactful clips.
- After creating your clips, arrange them in your playlist by dragging them in the order you want them to appear in the skills. Put your most impressive plays at the start, as coaches may only watch the first few clips, so make those count!
Once your playlist is complete, edit the name if needed, and you can either:
- Publish: Click "Publish" in the top right corner. This makes the playlist visible in the "Video" section of your Athlete Profile.
- Pin: If you want this playlist to be the very first thing a coach sees at the top of your profile, you must Pin it.
Creating and Managing Playlists
We recommend creating multiple playlists to highlight different seasons or events. You can create unlimited playlists by clicking the “Create Playlist” button at the top of the Video Library. The Pinned Playlist should always be your top clips and can be edited at any time.
The order of the playlists in the Video Library determines the order in which the playlists will appear on the Athlete Profile. You can use the axis icon to drag and drop a playlist card to a different spot. Note that the pinned playlist is always locked at the first position in the Video Library.
To select which playlist you’d like to pin at the top of your Athlete Profile, go to the Gear Menu and select “pin/unpin.” Pinning a new video will automatically move the previously pinned playlist to the general playlist section. The Gear Menu is also where you can edit, delete, or share your playlists.
Deleting or Unpublishing Your Playlist
Deleting or Publishing Your Playlists
If you want to delete or unpublish your playlist, click the button with 3 vertical lines in the top-right corner, directly to the right of the "Publish Edits" button. Deleting the playlist removes all your clips so you can start over, whereas unpublishing clips puts your pinned playlist in draft mode until you click the "Publish Edits" button again.
Note: Deleting your playlist will not delete the original clips from your video library.
