The SportsRecruits platform provides student-athletes with real-time notifications when college coaches view their information. Our product’s features and functionality have been thoughtfully designed to provide a more transparent experience for student-athletes and their families to help them make informed decisions throughout their recruiting journey.
Below are the actions that college coaches can take on the SportsRecruits platform leading to a student-athlete receiving a view notification. For any of the following View Notifications to register you must be logged in to your SportsRecruits account or access the student-athlete’s information via a one-time login link.
For information about what actions in the EventBeacon app trigger a view, click here.
*Note: For all types of View Notifications, we do not tell the student-athlete exactly which coach viewed their information, only that a coach from your program has viewed it.
Profile View
When you access a student-athlete's SportsRecruits profile from your college coach account, they will be notified that their profile has been viewed by your program. That being said, the platform must register actual interaction to trigger a view, meaning if you accidentally visit an athlete profile and then immediately exit, a view will not be triggered.
A Profile View can be triggered by:
- Clicking on the student-athlete profile link within an email sent to you via SportsRecruits, these emails include a one-time login link for the college coach recipient
- Clicking the “View Profile” from within your Discover or My Needs Feed
- Following a student-athlete on SportsRecruits or EventBeacon (note: the student-athlete will not know they have been Followed, just that they have been viewed)
- Clicking into a student-athlete profile on EventBeacon or from an EventBeacon On-Demand video
- Searching for a student-athlete using the SportsRecruits search bar or your preferred search engine, then clicking into that student-athlete’s profile
Video View
When you click the Play button on a student-athlete’s video published on SportsRecruits from your college coach account, they will be notified that your program viewed their video. If the student-athlete has multiple videos published to their profile, they will be able to see which video you viewed. Video Views can be triggered when you are watching the video from the student-athlete’s profile or from within your Discover or My Needs Feed.
Pinned Playlist View
The pinned playlist feature allows student-athletes to showcase their best moments by selecting their plays, organized by skill type, and displaying them at the top of their profile for easy access. When you view a student-athlete's pinned playlist, they’ll be notified of exactly which clips you watched. This feature provides valuable transparency, allowing athletes to see which plays and skill types captured your attention. By engaging with pinned playlists, you’re helping athletes understand what stands out in your evaluation process.
EventBeacon On-Demand View
EventBeacon On Demand is a virtual evaluation tool for college coaches to watch game film after events alongside team rosters. When you view a video in the EventBeacon On-Demand library, a view notification is delivered to each player listed on that game's roster. The view notification sent to those athletes states that a college coach from your program watched a game from the specific event.
Just as EventBeacon On-Demand gives college coaches a virtual sideline experience, we want to provide student-athletes who played in the game transparency into who was on that sideline.
Document View
Student-athletes can upload PDF documents or link external sources within the Press Links and Transcripts section of their profile. When you click one of these documents, that student-athlete will receive a document view notification.
SportsRecruits Statement:
Our mission at SportsRecruits is to empower student-athletes to pursue their dreams. As a company composed of former collegiate athletes, we understand first-hand the stress and anxiety felt throughout the college recruiting process.
With the tracking system, we want to allow as much transparency to student-athletes and their families as possible. We believe that transparency is one of the most crucial aspects of the recruiting process. We understand that a view does not always guarantee your interest in a particular athlete and may lead to a difficult conversation or email exchange. For this reason, we do our best to educate student-athletes on what view notifications mean and how they should proceed:
