College coaches evaluate rowing athletes by analyzing performance and technique. Tagging clips with the correct type of rowing session helps coaches quickly identify what they are viewing to evaluate their strengths as an athlete. Below, we outline the different types of rowing clips college coaches will be looking for to analyze performance across different intensities and environments.
Rowing Skills in Playlists:
- Race: Use this tag for official regattas and competitive pieces. Focus on the start sequence, sprint finishes, and stroke rate consistency under pressure.
- Erg Test: Ideal for capturing technique during 2k or 5k tests. Use these clips to correlate physical output with technical form.
- Training: Capture steady-state rows, technical drills, and piece work. This is the best phase for identifying long-term habit changes.
- Other: Use this for miscellaneous footage, such as equipment setup, coxswain recordings, or land-based warm-ups.
