What Is Scout?
Scout is your AI recruiting assistant, built on top of the SportsRecruits network. Scout has a curated recruiting knowledge base that the SportsRecruits Recruiting Guidance team writes and continuously updates. Scout is also able to review your SportsRecruits profile, college interests, and activity on the network to further its understanding of what stage of the recruiting process you are in.
That combination is what lets Scout answer your recruiting questions in a way that's specific to where you actually are in the process, whether you're wondering when to email a coach or how to build your school list, right from your SportsRecruits account.
You can chat with Scout to get advice tailored to your recruiting process. The more you complete your profile, the more helpful Scout can be! Scout is currently in beta, meaning it is not a finished product. Your questions and feedback help improve its performance so it can support more athletes like you.
Why Scout Was Built
One of the biggest challenges in the recruiting process is having access to expert guidance. Many families are navigating this for the first time, which can feel overwhelming.
By bringing expert guidance directly into the platform, Scout helps give every student-athlete timely, personalized support. That means better decisions, more confidence, and less stress during the recruiting journey.
How Scout Works
Scout is available on the SportsRecruits web platform. Here’s what Scout can do:
- ✅ Expert-Built: Scout's knowledge of the recruiting process is maintained by SportsRecruits' Recruiting Guidance experts to provide accurate, up-to-date answers on its most challenging aspects.
- 🔗 Account Connected: Scout is connected to your account and the larger SportsRecruits network so that it can provide advice specific to your situation.
- 🚧 In Beta: Scout is still learning! Your questions and feedback help improve its performance, enabling it to support more athletes like you.
📌 Note: Scout is only available to student-athletes and their families—it is not accessible by club staff or college coaches

Is My Data Used to Train Scout?
No. Scout runs on established, third-party AI models that are not trained using SportsRecruits athlete data. Your profile information, activity, and conversations with Scout are used to make Scout's answers specific to your recruiting situation, not to train the underlying AI models Scout runs on.
SportsRecruits employees review Scout conversations on an ongoing basis to help monitor safety, accuracy, and quality across the network. Responses flagged for further review are identified, and our team follows up with you directly if a response needs a closer look.
If you'd rather not use Scout, you can skip it entirely. Skipping Scout doesn't affect any other part of your SportsRecruits account.
Can I Give Feedback on Scout?
Yes! Your feedback is critical to improving Scout's performance. After any response from Scout, you can give a 👍 or 👎 rating and add optional feedback. These responses help improve the quality and reliability of answers Scout provides, so let us know what you like that Scout does, and what you’d like to see in the future.
Scout also includes built-in safety and moderation systems to ensure every conversation is helpful, respectful, and secure.
