Through your SportsRecruits bio, college coaches can gain a better understanding of who you are as a student-athlete, what your interests are, and an overall view of your academic and athletic achievements! By filling out your SportsRecruits bio, you are taking the extra step to make your SportsRecruits profile stand out among other prospective student-athletes!
What is the SportsRecruits Bio?
Your bio is the text box at the beginning of your SportsRecruits profile, just below your Featured Video and Video section. It is an open-ended space where you can give college coaches an overview of yourself, as well as your academic and athletic life!
Note: The bio has an 800 characters max, including spaces. Here is a great tool to check your character count. If your bio has more than 800 characters, it will not save and may be deleted. For this reason, we recommend typing the bio outside of the platform and copying it into the bio area when it is complete.

Why is your bio important?
Your bio is the one place you define yourself in your own words. Whether you use it to put your academic or athletic career in context, highlight your biggest achievements, or show off your personality, the summary is your chance to put your best self out there! The SportsRecruits bio strengthens your first impression and lets you show college coaches your personality.
What to say in your bio?
Start strong with a catchy opening sentence! Your SportsRecruits bio should start with the number-one thing you want college coaches to know about you. You can write about what separates yourself from other student-athletes, what skills you can bring to a college team, or why you want to play your sport at the next level.
Show off your academic accomplishments! Your bio is a great place to highlight your academic achievements, in addition to what you are looking for in a college. Feel free to be specific in your bio, writing about if you have an intended major or an area of study in mind, or even if you just want to go to school in a specific location, or of a certain size!
Show off your personality! Your SportsRecruits profile as a whole will reflect your specific statistics, but the SportsRecruits bio is to have your personality be on display. It’s a space to tell college coaches what makes you unique, to let them know about any relevant hobbies or awards, or show them what sets you apart from the rest!
