The descriptions below will tell you exactly what each stat means in this section, so that you know how to properly fill out your athletic information. What do these diving statistics mean?
All scores for this section are calculated as follows:
- All judges score the dive on a scale of 1-10.
- The top & bottom scores are discarded, leaving the remaining scores to be totaled & multiplied by a difficulty factor. This leaves the total score for the dive.
- The scores for each dive are added to give the total score for the event.
1) 1m Springboard - High School Meet (Best): Your personal best event score for a high school meet taking place on a 1m springboard. For example: 215.32.
2) High School State Placing: Your placing at your high school state meet.
3) High School State: Select the state in which your high school is located.
4) 1m Springboard - High School Meet (Avg): Your personal average score for a high school meet taking place on a 1m springboard. For example: 210.78.
5) 1m Springboard - USA Diving (Best): Your personal best event score for a USA Diving event taking place on a 1m springboard. For example: 215.32.
6) 1m Springboard - USA Diving (Avg): Your personal average score for a USA Diving event taking place on a 1m springboard. For example: 210.78.
7) 3m Springboard - USA Diving (Best): Your personal best event score for a USA Diving event taking place on a 3m springboard. For example: 215.32.
8) 3m Springboard - USA Diving (Avg): Your personal average score for a USA Diving event taking place on a 3m springboard. For example: 210.78.
9) Platform - USA Diving (Best): Your personal best event score for a USA Diving event taking place on a platform. For example: 215.32.
10) Platform - USA Diving (Avg): Your personal average event score for a USA Diving event taking place on a platform. For example: 210.78.
11) 1 Meter (List Dives): Here, just list the types of dives you are able to perform off a 1m springboard. For example: forward entry free, back dive tuck, & reverse dive tuck.
12) 3 Meter (List Dives): Here, just list the types of dives you are able to perform off a 3m springboard. For example: forward 1.5 somersault pike, inward dive tuck, & forward jump tuck.
13) Platform (List Dives): Here, just list the types of dives you are able to perform off a platform. For example: inward 1.5 somersault pike & armstand forward 1 somersault pike.
