The SportsRecruits video uploader in the video section supports most video file formats but there are a few unsupported codecs like the Apple ProRes video format. We believe in high-quality videos to improve the viewing experience for college coaches. Below, we have outlined a few steps you can take to maintain high-quality videos to upload while making sure your file type is compatible with online media players.
How to Export your Video Into A Compatible Video File
As of right now, our video uploader does not support Apple ProRes video files. For anyone using a Mac based editing software such as Final Cut Pro and iMovie, there is an option to convert your video to H.264. Make sure you are not exporting any ProRes files.
Exporting Video iMovie
-
To export your video, start by clicking on “File” in the menu bar, hover over Share and then click “File”.
-
Make sure that when you are selecting your quality, select “High” instead of “Best (ProRes)”.
-
Click “Next”.
-
Name your file and Click “Save”.
Exporting Video Final Cut
When exporting from Final Cut, go to “Settings” and set your codec as “H.264” instead of any of the Codecs that start with “Apple ProRes.”
