With the Eval Tool by SportsRecruits, organization administrators are able to set up and run evaluations for tryouts, showcases, tournaments, or any other type of event. Our tool is designed to guide you through your evaluation from start to finish.
You will begin by adding your coaches and evaluators, setting up your evaluation, and creating your metrics. Next, you can create groups to sort your athletes, check them in to the event or tryout, and begin evaluating them. Once your evaluation is complete, you can view your results, place players on teams, and even send out feedback, all in one place! This article and video feature a step-by-step overview of the process. For each step, you will also find an article that provides a more in-depth walkthrough of that particular piece of the evaluation process.
Step 1 - Add and manage your coaches and evaluators
Our evaluation tool is customizable, allowing administrators to determine who can evaluate athletes for a given event, as well as the level of access they will have during the evaluation process. You can add administrators to certain parts of the evaluation process including - being able to add players, the ability to edit events, or evaluating a specific group. You can also give full access to the results. Take a closer look at our article on "Adding Coaches & Evaluators" article to learn about this feature.
Step 2 - Set up your event or tryout
Prior to your evaluation, you need to set up your event in the system. During this step, you can also upload your rosters and import players. Check out our "Setting-Up an Evaluation Event" article to learn about how to get your event uploaded into Eval.
Step 3 - Create your metrics
Leading up to an event, organization administrators can create specific metric sets for each evaluation event, or edit existing ones. Metric sets determine the available metrics that are given for an evaluation. Metric sets are sport-specific and broken down into the following categories: Skill-based, Athletic, and Personality & Character. Check out our article on "Creating Evaluation Metrics" to learn more about this feature.
Step 4 - Establish your groups
With the Group feature, you can group players based on team, age, or location. You can also edit evaluation group names at any time and delete a past group evaluation when they are no longer needed. You can learn more in our "Groups" article!
Step 5 - Check In
Once you have created an evaluation and completed the necessary setup, you can begin the check-in process. Our tool allows you to easily check in athletes on the day of the event. Want more support with the Check-In tool? Take a look at our article on "Checking in Athletes".
Step 6 - Evaluate athletes
Organization administrators can easily evaluate athletes using the "Evaluation" feature. This allows you to see players and rate them across the different metrics that were created prior to the evaluation. Evaluators will also have the ability to take and share notes during this process. Check out our article on "How to Evaluate Players" to learn more!
Step 7 - View your results
After an evaluation is completed, you can easily view, consolidate and download your results. This step is important for helping you determine player placements, and preparing to message feedback to your athletes. Learn more in our "Post-Evaluation Results" article!
Step 8 - Determine player placements
Once an evaluation is completed, you can easily place players into rosters or teams. These placements can then be shared with your athletes. Our "Player Placements" article walks you through this process step by step!
9 - Send out messages
Once you have completed an evaluation period, you can easily share results, placements, and feedback with your athletes. Take a look at our "Post-Event Messages & Feedback" article to learn how!
